Sorry for the long waiting out there (if you are). I didn't forget it, really. During the last few days, I know that you have been very frustrated why I wrote so much stuff that I have not included my surgery--it has already been a week! I apologize for that. :)
By the way, here (on the right) is what I looked like after surgery. I was eating chocolate pudding.Let's get on to the point. I am self-questioning because it's easier for me to blot out more than essays, which normally includes outlines and brainstorms. This is just the introduction. The essay will be later.
- What kind of surgery did you have?
- I had tonsillectomy--removing of tonsils, adenoidectomy--removing of adenoids, and myringotomy (something to do with the ear) on the left.
- Did it hurt?
- I don't know. I was anesthetic on the surgery. But I guess it hurt of course.
- Why did you have surgery? Were they necessary?
- I am impaired in my left ear, meaning I cannot hear well. And also, I have my ear not checked up since I had my last surgery on 2002. That was the purpose of myringotomy. For tonsillectomy, I really had a large tonsils. And basically that's why I had one, I think. And for adenoidectomy, I had difficulties breathing with my [I don't remember if left or right] and that would also be involved with tonsillectomy.
- Before the surgery...
- Well, before the surgery, I was directed to a room-like section where I was to be kept after surgery also. There was a warm blanket and socks which comforted my body all day. I had an IV. I had my hand [just above the wrist--left] injected. They also got my temperature.
- After the surgery...
- Well, I was completely nauseous. I was served with ice chips, which I swallowed with difficulty. I was also required to breathe my excellent breathe [whatever that is!]. So I breathe deeply as I can but could not breathe very deeply and my oxygen was not getting higher. So I had a shot which did not help extirpate my nauseous feeling. I was given an oxygen mask and let myself sleep for hours. I do not know what time it was, but I got home at about 3:00, including those driving and buying prescriptions. I woke up and breathe heavily as I can and found out that my oxygen was maintaining on 90, and higher. It was tolerable. They kept me ten minutes more to ensure that I was getting enough oxygen, and I did. I was served popsicles and ice chips during that time.
Questions about after surgery topics are always welcome.
